DREW PROFFITT writes funny and nostalgic middle grade books for kids, that adults who remember the nineties will enjoy too.

A Logie-winning screenwriter, producer and showrunner, he has created and developed several popular and acclaimed television series, including House Husbands, Cleverman, Dead Lucky and After the Verdict.

He has also worked on the scripted television adaptations of Kerry Greenwood's Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, Eoin Colfer’s Half Moon Investigations and Tim Winton's Lockie Leonard.

Drew’s debut novel, YOURS HOPEFULLY, GEORGE ALEXANDER, will be published by Allen & Unwin in 2027, with a second instalment coming in 2028.

Set in 1990, the first book in the George Alexander series is based on a true story from Drew’s childhood, when he became the first boy to play netball in his small country town (that’s him over there when he was 9!)
